Unlike the well known stick on falsies that last one night if that, Eyelash Extension are a semi permanent alternative that last many weeks.
The application uses individual silk extensions, each extension is placed one by one on the natural lash using specially formulated glue.
WHO WEARS EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
Anyone can! All my clients love their lashes, often saying they are easily addictive
HOW ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS APPLIED & HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
A single natural lash is isolated and a silk lash is then place top of your own natural lash. Neither the glue nor the extension has contact with the skin.
The procedure will take approximately 1 ½ – 2 hours to complete.
DOES IT HURT?
No, not at all. You lay on the bed relaxed with your eyes closed. This is a non-invasive procedure. Quite often my clients fall asleep
HOW LONG DO EYELASH EXTENSIONS LAST?
I say roughly 4-6 weeks on the odd occasion longer. It is advisable to have a refill applied at around 2-3 weeks (this can depend on how well you take care of them) by this stage, some will have fallen out and fresh lashes will have grown through. By having refills you will maintain a constant fabulously full and luscious set of lashes that look AMAZING!!
CAN PEOPLE WITH CONTACTS GET EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
Yes they can. I recommended that you take them out and wear your glasses to your appointment.
HOW MUCH DO EYELASH EXTENSIONS COST?
A mini set of eyelashes starts at $150.
Refills are from $60 depending on how long you require.
CAN THE EXTENSIONS RUIN YOUR NATURAL LASHES?
Using my technique no! The eyelash extensions come away when your natural lash falls out. When applying lashes, I advise the client to choose a size and length that is suitable. A person with short and sparse lashes it is best to go with a shorter extensions. Eyelash extensions must be applied individually one by one to each natural lash. I do not stack the lashes, use cluster lashes, party or weekend lashes. These will damage your natural lashes when using a permanent glue.
Cluster Lashes are different to Volume Lashes.
Russian Volume Lashes are handmade fans using the finest of lashes. There is only a minute amount of glue used as they are bonded together when the fan is made and placed on the natural lash. The weight of these fans in total are less than a standard Classic extension. This is a extremely precise technique and the technician must be highly trained to offer this service.
To ensure there is no damage to your natural lash, do not pull, rub, or try to remove them yourself. Touching or fidgeting with your lashes is to be avoided as well. Remind yourself to take good care of your eyelash extensions.
CAN YOU WEAR MASCARA?
No it is advisable that you don’t. However if you choose to wear mascara, there are mascaras especially designed for eyelash extensions. They contain no oil and therefore will not affect the glue. * Please note DO NOT USE waterproof mascara!
Under NO circumstances wear mascara with Ru Volume Lashes, it will close the fan and destroy the full fluffy appearance.
Mascara Shortens the life of Eyelash Extensions.
Please ensure there is no mascara residue on your lashes prior to your appointment. It will effect longevity and there will be a charge for removal.
REMOVING MAKEUP WITH EYELASH EXTENSIONS
Use an oil free makeup remover. Be gentle around the eye area. Make sure to wash your eyelashes every couple of days. Do NOT wet them for 24 hours after application, as this will affect their longevity.
CAN I USE A EYELASH CURLER?
No, the extension already has a curl to it and this will cause the extension to kink.
EYELASH REMOVAL SERVICE
My clients just let their lashes fall out gradually therefor no need to have them removed.
Do NOT try to remove them yourself. The glue bond is very strong and you will damage your natural eyelashes.
If you have had your extensions applied elsewhere and you need them removed, I can help.
Lash Removal is $40 for the first 1/2 hour.
Removal of extensions that I have applied is not necessary as most clients choose to let them fall out on there own with the natural lash. If for any reason you would like them removed contact me
DO I REFILL ANOTHER SALONS WORK?
No I don’t as each technician has their own technique and standards.
It would require a removal and a new full set applied. This would need to be 2 separate appointments in most cases. If you are unsure about your circumstance, please contact me and I can advise you.
CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN TO MY APPOINTMENT?
No, I am afraid its not a suitable environment for children. As you will be laying down with your eyes closed for up to 2 hours, there will be no one to supervise them.
ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS SAFE WHEN PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?
Generally speaking, eyelash extensions are a safe and non-invasive cosmetic procedure. I use a high quality, low fume adhesive which is manufactured specifically for cosmetic use near the eye. The adhesive does not actually ever touch your skin as the extensions are glued to the individual eyelash hairs. Allergic reactions to the adhesive are very rare (1 in several thousand) and reactions can be treated. In saying this, I do not recommend that pregnant women who have not had eyelash extensions before test out the procedure during their pregnancy.
During the procedure you are required to lay flat on your back for over one hour, a position that is not recommended for women in the advanced stages of pregnancy. It also requires that you lay quite still, which can be difficult if you’re heavily pregnant.
Secondly, if you were unlucky and had an allergic reaction, your doctor may not be able to give you the required treatment due to your pregnancy, thus prolonging the reaction. However, if we had been doing your lashes before you become pregnant, please confirm with your practitioner that there is no problem continuing with the extensions. Please let me know so I can make you as comfortable as possible.
In all cases I would suggest that you speak with your Dr before going ahead and this is your responsibility
Breast Feeding – As the glue doesn’t come into contact with the skin, there is no harm in getting eyelash extensions. If unsure, again speak to your GP
A Booking Fee is charged to you at the time you select your appointment. This is transferable only once if you have given more than 48 hours notice. Continuous rescheduling or cancellations will require full cost of appointment to be paid upfront and non refundable.
